"The Kingdom of Heaven is like a mustard seed planted in a field. It is the smallest of all seeds, but it becomes the largest of garden plants and grows into a tree where birds can come and find shelter in its branches."
Matthew 13:31-32
THE FIRST SEED of the CSI Church, Toronto was planted on May 11th, 1986 at Wycliffe College Chapel. As the sole congregation of the Church of South India (CSI) in Canada, it is a vibrant and growing church, representing the South Indian Christian culture to communities in the Greater Toronto Area.
CSI Church, Toronto falls under the episcopacy of the Madhya Kerala Diocese, Church of South India and under the oversight of the York-Credit Valley Diocese of the Anglican Church of Canada. The church also enjoys close community ties with other Indian Christian denominations in Canada and the United States.
The church continues to grow through the humble prayers and commitment of its members and the guidance of strong spiritual leaders. In 2011, the church will be celebrating 25 years as a congregation. In recognition that the Lord has done great things the church is planning many events throughout 2010 to lead into the silver jubilee in May 2011.
In this spirit, we have identified 25 community endeavours in Development, Charity, Education, Health, and Mission work to be completed over the next 12 months.
As we celebrate the silver jubilee, we thank God for His faithfulness to our church.
